Current and Classic Songs come to Guitar Hero

With music ranging from one of the first and most influential alternative rock bands, R.E.M., to the timeless GRAMMY® award-winning rock anthem “Jessie’s Girl” by Rick Springfield, Activision Publishing, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI) today announced a rich and diverse lineup of launch week downloadable content for the highly-anticipated Guitar Hero® World Tour. Available exclusively on Xbox LIVE® Marketplace for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft for two weeks starting October 30, the R.E.M. Track Pack features three songs, which can also be downloaded as singles, from the band’s newest album, Accelerate, “Horse to Water,” “Man-Sized Wreath” and “Supernatural Superserious.”

Available at the launch of Guitar Hero World Tour is the Classic Rock Track Pack that offers fans three rocking party anthems “Rock and Roll Band” by Boston, “Hot Blooded” by Foreigner and “Jessie’s Girl” by Rick Springfield, also available for download individually.

Fake Set List Maybe Not A Fake

Is it possible that we've been faked out by the fake? Remember that list of possible song titles that we were told was not really the setlist for Guitar Hero World Tour? In case you forgot, here it is. Well a leaked snap shot of the latest OXM (Offical Xbox Magazine), shows part of the setlist that will be available for World Tour. The amazing part of all this, is that the fake matches the article almost exactly.

Ozzy Coming on World Tour

It appears as though biting virtual bats will be in our future when Guitar Hero World Tour is released. The Black Sabbath front man has signed up to star in Guitar Hero World Tour - and joins legend JIMI HENDRIX in the virtual line-up.

World Tour Setlist A Fake

Yesterday we had a post about the new setlist that was suppose to be for the upcoming Guitar Hero World Tour. As it turns out, that list was a fake, and a good one too. A representative from Activision has said that while some of the songs listed, will indeed be part of the upcoming game, others were the product of pure speculation. We'll just have to watch and see how close this rumor was when the next game is finally released or the actual set list is posted.

DragonForce DLC coming this August

Can't get enough DragonForce huh? Through the fire and the flames just isn't hard enough for you? Well your in luck, because the band's record label, RoadRunner Records, has just announced a three-song DragonForce downloadable content pack for Guitar Hero III featuring Heroes Of Our Time, the first single from the new album Ultra Beatdown as well as two songs from Inhuman Ramapge: Operation Ground and Pound and Revolution Deathsquad. The pack will be available on Thursday August 21.

Air Guitar Rocker to get New Songs

The two new Encore Packs, 80's Rock and Heavy Metal, each featuring 10 songs, will be packaged with a stylized designer buckle. The packs will work in conjunction with the existing Guitar Hero Air Guitar Rocker, enabling the user to expand their music library and collection of the genre specific buckles.

New Song Rumors for Guitar Hero Wold Tour

It's been rumored that the video's of Activisions E3 presentation of Guitar Hero World Tour gave away some key indications of what songs might be included on the upcoming release this fall. Here are a few of them.

Paramore - Misery Business: It's clearly visible while scrolling through the songs on the playlist. Plus Haley Williams is going to be a playable character in the upcoming game. So really, is this much of a surprise or rumor?
