Target has revealed that they will be exclusive sellers of a Wii bundle for Guitar Hero Aerosmith. The bundle for the Wii version of the game, featuring two wireless controllers and a tour book will likely be priced at $149.99.
The recently announced Guitar Hero World Tour not only has a drum set and vocals, but appears to have one really cool guitar. When visiting www.guitarhero.com, the opening page shows a new guitar propped up against the guitar set. Upon clicking on the guitar one gets the following message "3D Image Coming Soon". So we can only speculate that the new guitar is going to be different and not a Gibson or Fender.
Check out the faceplate on this bad boy. Although the game play is still in questions, there is no question as to how cool the new Axe is going to be. It doesn't matter if you bought the other controllers the Aerosmith faceplate is a must have.
Nyko Technologies, a premier peripherals manufacturer, announced that it has shipped its Front Man Wireless Guitar for PLAYSTATION 3 to retailers nationwide. The new Front Man Guitar provides a high quality, real guitar feel and is fully compatible with Guitar Hero III and Rock Band.
The Front Man Guitar for PS3 features wireless technology up to 25 feet and up to 80 hours of continuous game play. Other Front Man features include:
Effects pedal to wirelessly switch between Rock Band and Guitar Hero III
Unique directional pad design simplifies menu navigation
Activision and Microsoft told us that the stand alone controllers wouldn't be available until June. Well, it appears as though some 3rd party company got a little hot in the pants and released theirs a bit earlier. Although we can't confirm as to whether or not these work, we can say that all the parts that are needed to rock, seem to be there.
The product description is as follows:
Strap on your Guitar Hero III Wireless Controller, plug it in, and CRANK IT UP! The Wireless Guitar feels just like a real guitar, making it the ultimate way to jam on your XBox 360. With the Guitar Hero III Wireless Controller, you turn into a rock star every time you play Guitar Hero!
David Randolph from Systm, shows you how to use the Hollywood "Show Controller" to rig a Guitar Hero Controller, to play the song for you. This episode of Systm is entertaining and a lot of thought went into this. Ultimate Guitar Hero Geeks, will love this one.
On the 5th February, Activision applied for the trademark of “DJ Hero”, which could mean that a new game with a totally new controller is on it's way. The trademark reads as follows:
computer game software and related instruction manual sold together as a unit; interactive video game programs; computer game discs; downloadable software for use in connection with computer games; video game controllers; interactive video game comprised of a CD or DVD sold as a unit with a video game controller
One of the drawbacks to owning Guitar Hero III, is that in order to jam with your friends, they need to own the game as well, or know someone who also has a controller. Well RedOctane and Activision finally got it together and will release single guitar controllers to purchase.
The Wireless Guitar Pedal by React is exactly what the PS2 Guitar Hero Fanatic needs. Instead of tilting the guitar and taking your hand off the strum bar to hit the whammy, now you have all the controls at your feet. This bad boy only works on the PS2, so Xbox and Wii players will have to wait. Remember to stock up on AA batteries too, because this is going to take 4 of them.
One of the main complaints about PS3's backward compatibility for PS2 games is the inability to use custom PS2 controllers like the DDR dance pads and the Guitar Hero guitars. For $14.99, Pelican gives you a cheap way to get your old controllers to work with your old games on your new system.
One of the nice things about buying Guitar Hero II is that when Guitar Hero III came out, all you had to do was buy the game. However, if you want to have someone else over to jam with you on the Wii version, then you need to pick up an extra guitar. This isn't easily done, considering the only way to get the controller is to purchase the game again or have your friend bring their controller. Luckily RedOctane is taking care of this problem.
ezGear has created a controller for the PlayStation 3, that has 10 buttons instead of the normal 5. No longer will adults, who's fingers are typically bigger than the younger generation of gamers, have trouble hitting all the right buttons. At this time the controller is only made for the PS3 and unfortunately it's wired, so you won't be able to rock out without being connected. However this does give women and children a much better Guitar Hero Experience, now that both large and small buttons are on the same piece.
